Christmas Sled Dogs
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
In case you didn't hear
Malamutes are Pulling Santa's Sled this year
They'll make it to your house on time
Through snow and wind and ice
Help Santa down the chimney
Because they have one vice.
They're waiting on the rooftop
Buried deep in snow
For Santa to deliver toys
To children down below.
They'll hear his whistle
Shake off snow, ready at the whip
Because they know on Chrismas Eve
They get cookies on this trip.

Santa's Malamutes
I know someone named Santa, who has two Malamutes
Christmas time,
is sublime
and always is a hoot.
While your Santa likes the north,
with cold and ice and sleet
The Santa that I know and love is happy on a beach.
Her castle is in Florida,
Her Malamutes can swim,
They're spoiled with toys and Christmas day
they get their every whim.
They don't have to pull a sled
or get their tootsies cold.
Their other mom is Di, who has a heart of gold.
They play and dig in Florida sun, and never work too hard,
Except when doing Rally, or bug hunting in the yard.
Christmas day at Santa's
means golf and food and friends.
No building toys, just Malamute noise,
And sleep when the party ends.
Merry Christmas Di and Santa!

Christmas Preparations
The tree's a shambles
The lights are gone
Wrapping paper on the lawn
Gifts unwrapped
Snacks are eaten
Wind is blowing, snow is sleeting
Presents Missing
Roast is gone
Looks like someone's tired, yawn
Sleeping in a corner near
Close enough so he can hear
all the commotion of the year
Where's the dog? He ate the tree!
Anyone seen him? you or me?
Malamute stretches, goes outside
His Christmas work has all been plied

Fruitcake Rescue
Malamutes have the Christmas spirit,
Unfortunately, don't let them near it.
They'll howl and bark and carry on
To open presents while you yawn.
Then rip and tear and out it comes,
a fuzzy toy but they want crumbs.
You thought the fruitcake high and hid
Was somewhat safe from furry kids.
Unfortunately, you're just too late.
The Malamutes found the sumptious cake.
When you were sleeping, warm and snug,
They pulled it down with one small tug.
Ripped it open, passed around
Making not the slightest sound.
Underneath the Christmas lights,
They had a party in the night.
Scattered paper to and fro,
Ribbons, wrapping high and low
The fruitcake, well it's just gone
It was under the tree, but not for long.

The 12 Days of a Puppy's Christmas
Here's a little Christmas song that Elizabeth and Sharon wrote (Alvin's family) It kind of sums up their first year with Alvie...
On the first day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me...one shredded living room chair
On the second day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, two hours of sleep and (repeat 1)
On the third day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, three mangled screens (repeat 2,and 1)
On the fourth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 4 toeless socks, (repeat above)
On the Fifth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 5 bathroom tiles (repeat above)
On the sixth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 6 torn up rugs (repeat above)
On the seventh day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 7 unearthed plants (repeat above)
On the eighth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 8 headless geese (repeat)
On the ninth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me 9 deadly falls
On the tenth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me 10 swimming pools
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 11 eaten collars
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my puppy gave to me, 12 dead chipmunks
Here's to another year of home repairs, and sloppy wet kisses. May there be many more! 12/2009
Christmas Eve
Christmas eve is here and it's interesting to see
All the Malamute presents, underneath the tree.
Holly wants a bunny dolly she can rip and tear.
Mula wants a hula hoop I think it's under there.
Mocha'd do the polka for a stick to run and chase.
Jazzy wants some snazzy shoes, or chew hooves in their place.
Simone asked for a bone, and Theodore a toy.
Riggs and Pig aren't telling, thinking that's a better ploy.
Pod asked for an iPod, is there any harm in that.
But Gracie says a lacy scarf is really where it's at.
Superman asked for several hams placed under the tree.
He even said he'd share a slice or two with you and me.
Now everyone is tucked into their crates and snuggy beds.
Waiting for the reindeer bells and the sound of Santa's sled.

To the tune of Winter Wonderland
Dog tags ring, are you listening'?
In the lane, snow is glistening'.
It's yellow, NOT white I've been there tonight,
Marking up my winter wonderland
Smell that tree? That's my fragrance.
It's a sign for wandering vagrants;
"Avoid where I pee, it's MY pro-per-ty!
Marked up as my winter wonderland."
In the meadow dad will build a snowman,
following the classical design.
Then I'll lift my leg and let it go Man,
So all the world will know that it's
mine-mine-mine!
Straight from me to the fence post,
flows my natural incense boast;
"Stay off my TURF, this small piece of earth,
I marked it as my winter wonderland."
