Malamute (Simone) Rules

If I like it, it’s mine.
If it’s in my mouth, it’s mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours.
If it just looks like mine, it’s mine.
If I saw it first, it’s mine.
If it’s edible, it’s mine.
If you have something and put it down, it’s mine.
If I chew something up, all the pieces are mine.
If I get tired of it, it’s yours.
If I want it back, it’s mine.

Simone

Always a blur...

Nicknames: Simooooooone!, Dammit Simone, GET OVER HERE (and a few other choice words)
AKC Registered Name: O'Mal's Moulin Rouge
Weight: 70 lbs

Spectactular! Spectacular! describes this beautiful girl. So French she should be. Aloof, arrogant, determined and with a mind of her own. Simone is very intelligent and uses it to her advantage - doing whatever it takes to get what she wants and rarely listens to mere mortals. If you didn't know any better you would swear she was deaf or stupid - but that's because she has her own agenda. She takes no guff from her brothers, and thinks nothing of walking among the big dogs with complete confidence. In her mind, she is a fantastic production, larger than life and bigger than any of them. Come? Not moi....unless food is involved.

Her favorite thing to do is steal anything that isn't nailed down...toys, food, anything goes in her crate. She can jump 4 ft into the crate with a stuffed animal in her mouth the same size she is she's so accurate! Nothing up high is safe, she'll jump up on it - even now at the ripe old age of 10.She'll do ANYTHING for a cookie, and if she thinks a reward will be involved, listens pretty good. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body - just like her mom. Jazzy tries to start something, but Simone never takes the bait...she just looks at Jazzy like she's crazy. Most of the other dogs don't like her for some reason (maybe it's her haughty attitude)...but she doesn't seem to care. She never starts fights, but WILL finish them if someone is stupid enough to attack her.She mostly hangs out with Theodore and Mula....but can get along with Mocha and like Superman. Jazzy hates her...but now that she's old knows better than to attack her (most of the time) so just yells at Simone...what does Simone do?Ignore her of course!

Simone LOVES to jump. We finally put her crate on top of the others because she prefers it that way. She jumps up on ANYTHING. People, tables, and can go over the fence with ease - but doesn't do it.I think Mocha instigated the couple of times they got out. Together they will escape, but Simone won't do it alone. And the couple of times they got out, she was a sucker for being called....while Mocha cautiously stayed just far enough away to keep from being caught, Simone's curiousity got the best of her and she HAD to see what might be in my hand - busted! She is incredibly fast and can outrun everyone in the pack. With the attitude of a star performer we have no doubt this girl would do well in the show ring if we could just get her to chill enough to stand still for more than asecond! I'm building her a set of agility equipment ...if I can keep control of this wild child, we'll have a lot of fun!

Simone has had her chance to play with the puppies (from Jazzy's litter - after Jazzy was safely in another room) and she just thinks they are grand. She looks at them with the most curiousity and doesn't even mind their nipping and biting. She's smart enough to not enter their pen though...why tempt fate? Once they grew up, Jazzy must have passed on her dislike to the younger girls (Leeloo, Kara and Netiri) because though they had no reason, they arbitrarily decided to hate Simone too...and does Simone care? NOPE.

With her boundless energy she is almost impossible to control on walks. We don't just use a halti-collar on her...but a halti- and TWO leashes. And you still have to hang on for your life as she drags you around. She's getting better...I figure by 12 or so she MIGHT be controllable. When she comes in from outside she has to investigate every corner of the house before she heads to her crate (just like Kara)....so we spend a lot of time yelling ...SIMONE!!! Dammit get over here.
