Before you look for your perfect puppy, you need to know what sort of dog to look for, where to get it, and when to get it. An educated choice is generally far better than an impulsive puppy purchase. Additionally, you need to thoroughly familiarize yourself with the developmental deadlines; they become urgent and crucial the day you select your puppy. Take your time to review this booklet, observe a number of puppy classes, and then make a thoughtful choice. Your dog's future depends on it.

FEMA - Malamutes and Disaster Booklet

Do you have plans for your Malamutes in case of an emergency? Some shelters do not accept Malamutes, so having a plan ahead of time is essential to your Malamute's survival.

      • Have a safe place to take your Malamutes. Don't leave them behind. Prepare a list of boarding facilities who can shelter a Malamute in an emergency.  Preferably somewhere away from where you live.
      • Assemble a portable Malamute disaster supplies kit. This should include medical records, leashes, Malamute carriers, food, water, etc.
      • Place an additional Malamute tag on your Malamute's collar with information from the boarding facility.
