Special Moments...in the Show Ring

We don't show a lot - it's an expensive hobby and many breeders finance their showing addiction by overbreeding - we refuse to do that.  But we do like to show occasionally and when we do, we usually do well. Until Superman, having a great male to show has been elusive for us, and other than Star, something has always happened to interrupt the show career of the girls. We are beginning to call it the O'Mal curse! We've since retired and now longer show and breed...it was fun but you get sick of the politics. If you want to try your hand at it, go for it! Just know it will cost bundles of money and if you have really good dogs, people will not be nice to you. It takes a thick skin!

Nova - who we tragically lost to pyometra before she finished her championship...she was so close...

"I'd just rather be in my Roooom"

Star - the consumate show dog...she loved showing and achieved her American and Canadian championship in just a few shows.

"The Ultimate Show Dog and hard to beat"

Mulan - her show career ended when after c-section surgery, a vet left gauze in her abdomen requiring her to be spayed to save her life.

"Tough to beat unless a veterinarian almost kills you"

Koani - owned by Di & Santa in Florida

"Koani's the name, Obedience is my game"

Penny - we call her Queen of Reserves because she seemed to always just miss out on the points though she had quite a few eventually...

"The Queen of Reserves"

Holly - big dogs with fluffy coats were the rage when we showed Holly...but she had a normal one so after several points, we went in another direction.

"Not a lot of hair, always lots of attitude"

Grace - she did so well and earned several points but died tragically from bloat before she could finish her championship.

"When I'm not hugging the judge, I win"

Jazzy

"Ok, I'll do it for you but it's just not my thing..."

Kiska

"Trained my person quite well don't you think?"

Simone

"Does it count if I stand on the judges head?"

Mocha

"I just can't take this show stuff seriously -give me a belly rub"

Superman

"Never fear, Superman is here!"
